Vision Development Foundation (VDF) is a Civil Society Organization (CSO) founded in 2000 and established in 2006, with its secretariat at Banjul and field office at Latrikunda sabiji through the generous support of a Gambian Philanthropist Mr. Momodou Turo Darboe, as his contribution to complement Government’s efforts to help the poor and needy informally in the Gam bia. Over fifteen communities and one hundred and fifty individuals have benefited from Mr. Darboe’s informal support. The high demand for support over the years necessitated and prompted Mr. Darboe to engage other partners and expand the scope of the innovation to help more communities and individuals and welcome the support of other philanthropists and donor organizations nationally and internationally to help women, youth and children through vision development Foundation in the Gambia.
To sustain the initiative the activities of VDF include among others. Financial and material support to community projects Investment loans to women in business Skill capacity building for women and youths Child sponsorship and education facilities development Environment sanitation, development and protection Support health and nutrition activities Maintenance and support to security facilities Maintenance and support public infrastructure development Financial support to under privileged women, youths and children Respond to community needs geared towards poverty reduction as articulated in the National PRSP, Vision 2020 and the MDGs and improve living standard of Gambia in general. To improve health, education, environment and per capital income. |
